The army of volunteers on the course included the emergency services for their continued support of the event; the 7000 entrants and 83 dogs who registered and of course the thousands of spectators including the team from Sutton & Co Solicitors who braved the damp drizzle and blustery conditions in the early part of the event to cheer and wave home the event runners including family, friends and colleagues.
Twenty West Midlands Fire Service firefighters pulled a 15 tonne fire engine around 8.5 mile course
Sutton & Co Solicitors volunteered to provide assistance to event runners at the information point at the start of the event.
Stephen Sutton’s mum, Jane officially started this year’s Great Midlands Fun Run before setting off herself to tackle the challenging 8.5 miles around the Royal Town for the first time.
